Another US military fighter jet crashed in South Korea.
According to South Korea's Yonghap News Agency and other sources, an F16 fighter jet belonging to the air base in Gunsan, central South Korea, crashed on Wednesday the 31st while flying over the Yellow Sea on the west side of the Korean Peninsula . This is the second crash of a U.S. military fighter jet stationed there in the past month. The report did not say what caused the fighter jet to crash. Gunsan Air Base is one of two major air bases used by U.S. Forces Korea. Previously, in December last year, another US F-16 fighter jet also crashed in the Yellow Sea. In November last year, an Osprey CV-22B multi-purpose military aircraft belonging to the Yokota Air Base of the US Forces in Japan crashed off the coast of Yakushima, killing all eight people on board. North Korea and China have repeatedly called for the withdrawal of U.S. troops, calling them stationed in the region and holding joint exercises with South Korea and Japan as a source of tension in the region. On the other hand, with regard to the approximately 50,000 US troops stationed in Japan and approximately 28,000 in South Korea, people in both countries have held demonstrations against them and have repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of US troops.
