Trump’s Cabinet: Pro-Israel Secretary of State Approved by Senate

The U.S. Senate has approved Marco Rubio with 99 votes in favor and none against. Rubio, known for his tough stance against China and strong support for Israel, has consistently advocated for strict anti-Iran policies. According to Reuters, Rubio is the first nominee in Trump's cabinet to receive Senate approval, which came just hours after President Trump was sworn in for his second term at the White House.

Rubio, 53, a staunch critic of China and a strong supporter of Israel, comes from a Cuban immigrant family. Despite his background, he has called for stringent measures against the island nation and its allies, such as Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro's government.

Rubio has consistently promoted anti-Iran policies and has repeatedly leveled baseless accusations against Iran. During his Senate confirmation hearing, he stated, "There can be no scenario in which Iran is allowed to possess nuclear weapons. Likewise, there should be no situation where this regime is equipped with the resources and capabilities necessary to initiate or sustain resistance."

Iran has repeatedly clarified that as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has the right to acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
