The ministry announced that 341 public schools, universities and buildings affiliated with these institutions, as well as 65 schools belonging to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), were bombed and damaged in the Gaza Strip; 138 of these were severely damaged and 77 were completely destroyed. It stated that 84 schools and 7 universities in the West Bank faced raids and destruction.
The ministry emphasized that 788 thousand students in Gaza have not been able to attend their schools and universities since the attacks began, that most students have suffered psychological trauma and are facing difficult health conditions. It also stated that the frequent raids carried out by the occupation forces in Jenin and Tulkerem have caused students to feel fear in their schools.
