The Twitter site replaced the blue bird logo with a white X on a black background. The change, which is part of a rebranding operation of the company also to counter competition from Meta with its Threads platform, had been announced by Elon Musk in the past few hours. The owner Elon Musk announced a temporary limit of visible tweets on the social network, which had led many users to think it was a malfunction of the platform.

Elon Musk imposes "temporary limits" on Twitter to counter "high levels of system manipulation and data scraping". The billionaire's announcement comes on a day of difficulty for users: since this morning, reports of problems in consulting the social platform have increased considerably, as reported by the Downdetector site, which tracks user reports on malfunctions, who today found themselves unable, once they entered the social platform home page, to see the normal scrolling of posts. An error message warns: “Something went wrong. Try to update". Another message, further down, provides a few more elements: “Sorry, you have reached your limit. Wait a few moments".

The answer to this anomaly comes from the owner of Twitter. In a post, Elon Musk explains that this is not a technical failure, but a new policy. And that from now on unverified users will be limited to reading 800 tweets a day, those verified (i.e. with a blue tick) up to 8,000. For new unverified accounts, the number of readable tweets drops to 400.Initially the limits had been set at 6000 tweets for verified users and 600 for unverified ones (not paid in short), but after an hour, Musk also increased the maximum number of daily consultations.
