KIEV-The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will visit Helsinki today, where he will have a meeting with his counterpart Sauli Niinisto and with the heads of government of the Nordic countries. The two heads of state will discuss defense support for Ukraine, bilateral relations and the global geopolitical situation, as reported by the Finnish presidential administration. Following the talks, Niinisto and Zelensky will hold a joint press conference. The visit had not been communicated previously. Nova News reports it.
The working lunch of the official visit will also be attended by Prime Minister Sanna Marin and Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto. Zelensky's visit program also includes a meeting with the Speaker of Parliament and leader of the National Coalition Party Petteri Orpo, who is expected to lead the next government. In the afternoon, Niinisto will chair the Nordic-Ukrainian summit, which will be attended by Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Norwegian Jonas Gahr Stoere, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Icelandic Katrín Jakobsdóttir.
