John Kirby, Friday (12/1/2024) in an interview with MSNBC said that the US did not want to conflict with Iran, after attacking Yemen, together with Britain. "We don't want to escalate, and there is no reason to escalate beyond what the Houthis have done in the last few days. They are the ones who have escalated the tension," said Kirby. He claimed, "We know that Iran supports the Houthis, and we have made it clear that Iran must stop supporting it." Early Friday morning, the US and Britain launched attacks on 12 locations in Yemen, using fighter jets, warships and submarines. US officials claim the country's forces attacked military training sites, air bases and drone storage facilities belonging to Yemen's Ansarullah. Not long after the US and UK attacks, Yemeni Ansarullah forces announced they had launched a ballistic missile attack on enemy positions at sea. A number of countries and Palestinian resistance groups, including Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the PFLP, condemned the US and UK attacks, and announced support for the Yemeni people.
