Yemen-Saudi Arabia, the exchange of 887 prisoners begins

The head of the National Committee on Prisoner Affairs of Yemen's National Salvation Government announced the start of the 887-prisoner-of-war exchange operation with Saudi Arabia for tomorrow Friday. Negotiations on the case of prisoners of war in Yemen concluded on March 20 in Switzerland, and the release of 706 prisoners of Ansarullah and 181 prisoners on the other side, including Saudis and Sudanese, was agreed.

According to the AAA, the head of the National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs of the National Salvation Government of Yemen, "Abd al-Qadir al-Mortaza", wrote in a tweet that after announcing the readiness of all parties to implement the agreement agreed, we have been informed by the International Committee of the Red Cross that from Friday corresponding to the 23rd day of the month Ramadan, the prisoner exchange operation will begin.

Previously, a number of prisoners of the Yemeni army and forces affiliated with the resigned and fugitive government of this country were released in stages through local intermediaries. The exchange of prisoners is one of the key issues in Yemeni-Yemeni dialogues in Switzerland, and efforts in this field have always failed and only in some cases some prisoners have been exchanged through local mediation.
