Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has instructed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny and Joint Force Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Naev to strengthen the defense in northern Ukraine. This was reported by UNIAN quoted by Rai news.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has stated that Kiev would not be satisfied with any other decision of the NATO summit in Vilnius, scheduled for July 11-12, other than an invitation to join the alliance. The spokesman of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin has listened to Zelensky's request for Ukraine to join NATO, as well as various reactions to it. He noted that Moscow is closely monitoring the situation and recalls that it was Kiev's orientation towards the alliance that became one of the reasons for the start of Russia's special operation in Ukraine.
