Zelensky: strengthen border with Belarus

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has instructed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny and Joint Force Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Naev to strengthen the defense in northern Ukraine. This was reported by UNIAN quoted by Rai news.

Zelensky announced that Ukrainian intelligence is closely monitoring the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, and that in view of the possible risks, it has been ordered to strengthen the protection of the northern direction.At the end of September 2022, the head of the Kiev regime Zelensky announced that his country had applied to join NATO under an accelerated procedure. Carrying out such a procedure is inconvenient, Jake Sullivan, assistant to the president of the United States for national security, later noted.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has stated that Kiev would not be satisfied with any other decision of the NATO summit in Vilnius, scheduled for July 11-12, other than an invitation to join the alliance. The spokesman of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin has listened to Zelensky's request for Ukraine to join NATO, as well as various reactions to it. He noted that Moscow is closely monitoring the situation and recalls that it was Kiev's orientation towards the alliance that became one of the reasons for the start of Russia's special operation in Ukraine.
