Zelensky: We will do everything to end the war with Russia in 2025

On Tuesday, the president of Ukraine addressed the people of this country on the occasion of the New Year, saying that he will do everything to end the war with Moscow by 2025 and stop Russian attacks.

Volodymyr Zelensky added: "I hope that 2025 will be our year, the year of Ukraine. We know that peace will not be given to us, but we will do everything to stop Russia and end the war."

According to an analysis, in 2024 Ukraine has lost seven times more land than in 2023 and it faces the possibility of a decrease in US military and political support after the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump.

President Joe Biden's administration on Monday provided almost $6 billion in military aid and funding to Ukraine, in an effort to shore up Kiev ahead of Trump's inauguration on January 20.

Ukraine occupied the Kursk region in August, but since then it has lost more than 40% of the territory it had controlled. Military analysts say the offensive has expanded the front line and put more pressure on Ukrainian forces.
