Zionist Minister: Settlement construction will not be stopped
The finance minister of the Israeli regime Bezalel Smotrich stated that he did not follow the results of the Aqaba meeting and that settlement construction would not be stopped. According to an Al-Jazeera report, Smotrich said on Sunday evening that he would not abide by the agreement reached at the security meeting in Aqaba regarding the temporary suspension of settlement construction.
Danny Danon, a member of the Zionist regime's Knesset, also said: "If Israel agrees to stop settlement construction, it will disgrace Netanyahu's cabinet." The US-organized security meeting between the Palestinian Authority and the Zionist regime took place in the shadow of protests and condemnations by the Palestinian people and Palestinian resistance groups on Sunday and was hosted by Jordan at the Port of Aqaba with representatives from Cairo and Washington. According to the final declaration of the Aqaba meeting, the Zionist regime has pledged to suspend the inspection of Zionist settlement construction for 4 months and the approval of construction of new settlements for 6 months. The Palestinian people and resistance groups condemned this meeting, calling it another conspiracy to violate the rights of the Palestinian people and save the Zionist regime from resistance pressures.
