African leaders are meeting in Nairobi, Kenya to discuss development projects
Presidents and government leaders of various countries from different countries of the African continent are meeting in Nairobi at the International Development Conference in collaboration with the World Bank (IDA).
In addition to the leaders of various countries, the meeting is attended by civil society leaders, youth and other development stakeholders, to discuss development projects that should be implemented in Africa by getting support and funding from development stakeholders.
Reports state that, the international development program, which collaborates with the World Bank, has projects in 75 countries in the world.
After it was created in 1960, the goal of the union was to help poor countries fight poverty by facilitating the provision of loans at low interest rates for economic development, equality and improving people's lives.
In addition to the World Bank, more than 30 countries, including China, Chile, India, South Korea and Turkey, are among the sponsoring countries of the project.
In the financial year that ended in June 2023, IDA provided 34.2 billion dollars for aid, with African countries receiving 75 percent of the funds for development.
