Aliyev mocks Macron and threatens Armenia

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev once again mocked the French President and made threats against Armenia in an interview with the All-Russian State Television and Radio Committee and RIA Novosti.
"Armenia must understand that no one will help it in the event of a provocation against Azerbaijan 'on the ground', despite the support of the US and France," Aliyev was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
"They should not forget the results of the Second Karabakh War and the anti-terrorist operation in September 2023," Aliyev continued. According to him, the maximum support of French President Emmanuel Macron and the US State Department does not provide any guarantees to Yerevan.
"Here, on the ground, if they are thinking of another provocation against us, no one will help them. Well, how did Macron help them in 2020 or 2023? He supported them. I don't know, he grabbed them by the hand, or from somewhere else. That's all. What is he capable of? We know that perfectly well," Aliyev said.
He added that from now on, Azerbaijan will also “call for a halt to arming Armenia.” “And if this continues, then so that there are no demands from us later,” he said.
There are 89 unidentified and unburied bodies and remains after the 44-day Artsakh war. Mariam Tsatryan, the spokesperson for the Minister of Health, told Sputnik Armenia. Earlier, during an outing with journalists, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan announced that the examinations of bodies and relics after the 44-day war and the explosion in Stepanakert have been completed and summarized. "There are relics that are not subject to DNA testing due to excessive damage.
There are unidentified and unburied relics and bodies," Avanesyan said. According to him, work is underway with the parents, as well as the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Defense. Back in December 2023, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia reported that 218 people died as a result of the explosion at the fuel depot in Stepanakert, 2 of whom were NK police officers serving at the depot, 31 were servicemen, including 9 officers, 5 non-commissioned officers, and the rest were privates.
The identities of 138 of the deceased were established through the designated forensic genetic examinations, and 77 through other investigative and procedural actions. Let us recall that in February 2023, Advisor to the Minister of Defense, Major General Vardan Avetisyan, announced that the remains that have been identified but not claimed by the parents will be buried in the Yerablur military pantheon, in a specially designated area.
