Bolton: Trump is a cancer of the Republican Party
A former White House national security adviser called Donald Trump a "cancer" of the Republican Party.Trump is accused of paying $130,000 to a porn actress ahead of the 2016 presidential election to keep quiet about their relationship.
John Bolton believes accusing Donald Trump could ultimately help the former president and become "rocket fuel" to help him win the Republican nomination. Bolton made the announcement on CBS.
“I'm not worried about Alvin Bragg (Manhattan District Attorney) hurting Donald Trump. I'm worried that Alvin Bragg has benefited Donald Trump," Bolton said. In his opinion, if the ex-head of the United States is acquitted or the case is closed, this will become "rocket fuel" for Trump's nomination.
Bolton is confident that if Trump is not convicted, the former president will claim that he is acquitted and will be able to use it as a weapon in his election campaign.
The former national security adviser to the president thinks Trump should step aside and let another GOP candidate carry the torch in 2024. "Trump is the cancer of the Republican Party," he added.
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump said that after he is charged in court on April 4, he will deliver a speech from his residence of Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
It also became known that Trump enlisted the support of 37 Republicans in the US House of Representatives in order to help him in a possible trial. The jury charges Trump on 30 counts of fraud.
