China rejects US proposal for meeting between defense leaders

The Chinese government has declined an invitation from the United States for a meeting between the military leaders of the two countries. The meeting should have been held in Singapore between Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu and his US counterpart Lloyd Austin, on the occasion of the next Defense Summit to be held from 2 to 4 June in Singapore.
