The situation on the border between Kosovo and Serbia is increasingly explosive: in the past few hours, clashes with Serbian demonstrators have led to the wounding of 30 members of the NATO force for Kosovo (KFOR), including 14 Italians. Hence the decision of the Atlantic Alliance to order the deployment of Operational Reserve Forces (ORF) for the Western Balkans.

“The multinational reserve force battalion has been ordered to reduce its readiness status from fourteen days to seven days, to be ready to reinforce KFOR if necessary. The Naples command is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to coordinate with KFOR to make sure it has all the capabilities and forces necessary to impartially guarantee a safe environment and freedom of movement for all communities". reads in a statement from the Allied Joint Force Command of Naples reported by Repubblica.
