Chinese President to visit Moscow next week

According to insiders, Chinese President Xi Jinping plans to travel to Moscow next week and meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin for talks. According to Reuters, this was said on Monday by several people familiar with the project, who did not want to be named because of the sensitive issue. There was initially no comment from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, while the Foreign Ministry in Moscow declined to comment. There were no further details about the possible meeting. The Tass news agency reported on January 30 that Putin had invited the Chinese president to visit Moscow in the spring. Shortly before the start of the Ukraine war, China and Russia agreed on a comprehensive partnership more than a year ago. The rapprochement of the two great powers is viewed with concern in the West. The West has also not responded positively to a peace plan for Ukraine recently announced by China.
