CNN: The US is looking to send Ukraine more aid before 2025
CNN television based in the United States has reported that Washington is looking to send more aid to Ukraine before January 2025 and the country's presidential elections.
CNN has reported that US President Joe Biden and the country's Congress started discussing the issue since last year 2023. The US President has asked for continued military aid for Ukraine worth 61 billion dollars, however Republican lawmakers in The House of Representatives of the country, in contrast, have wanted to clearly strengthen Biden's policy on immigration. This is in a situation where Joe Biden's advisers have also warned the parliamentarians that Russia can win the war in Ukraine within weeks or months only if the US Congress does not agree to allocate new funds for Kyiv. Along with these mentioned US efforts to support Ukraine, French Defense Minister Sébastien LeCorneau admitted on Friday that some French citizens have already signed up to join the Ukrainian army against Russia; remarks that seem to contradict previous claims by the French Foreign Ministry that Paris has no mercenaries in Kyiv or anywhere else. This is in a situation where the White House, their Western Military Alliance (NATO) and the Kyiv government know very well that if Donald Trump wins the November election, he will most likely stop aid to Ukraine.
