Following the country's interventionist approach to the war in Ukraine, British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps announced a British plan to train Ukrainian soldiers under the pretext of war in that country and said that the UK plans to train 30 thousand soldiers. The EuroNews  agency reports this. Earlier, the British Ministry of Defense reported that the country's forces had trained 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers under the pretext of war in Ukraine. The war in Ukraine, with all its large-scale political, military, economic, social and even cultural consequences, has entered its 20th month, and Western countries continue to send weapons to Ukraine.

European and Western countries, especially America, having increased sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, have not taken a single step towards ending the war in Ukraine; on the contrary, they continue to add fuel to the fire of the war in Ukraine. Russian officials, as well as some Western experts and media, call the war in Ukraine a proxy war between the West and Russia. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky delivered a speech at the UN Security Council on Wednesday. According to Al Jazeera, Zelensky said: “Ukraine is using its right to defend the country, and in this vein it regards providing us with support in the form of sanctions and pressure.” The Ukrainian president added: “The United Nations is at an impasse on the issue of the Russian attack.”

Zelensky said: “The veto power in the Security Council needs to be changed so that some people do not abuse it for their own personal interests. The President of Ukraine said that Russia is illegally abusing its position in the Security Council after the collapse of the Soviet Union.” On the other hand, the Russian representative in the UN Security Council said: “During its presidency of the UN Security Council, Albania turned this institution into a theater.” At the same time, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said: "Russia's war in Ukraine has exacerbated geopolitical tensions, jeopardized regional stability and increased the nuclear threat." Guterres added: "The war in Ukraine has caused global prices to rise and we must work to restore the grain deal."

The war in Ukraine began because the West ignored Moscow's security concerns and brought the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) closer to Russia's borders. Last September, the Russian president announced his readiness to hold peace talks with Kiev and asked Ukraine to end the fighting. But Zelensky, under the influence of Western militaristic officials, said he was ready to sit down at the negotiating table only when another president comes to power in Russia.
