Cuba's support for Russia in the face of the armed rebellion of the Wagner group

The President of Cuba supported the President of Russia in the face of the armed rebellion of the Wagner group. According to the news agency Gosteleradio, Miguel Diaz-Canel announced the support of the Cuban people and government for Russian President Vladimir Putin in the face of the armed rebellion of the Wagner militia group and condemned this armed uprising.

Earlier Sunday morning, Venezuelan and Nicaraguan Presidents Nicolás Maduro and Daniel Ortega Saavedra issued separate statements expressing support for Russia and Vladimir Putin and condemning the Wagner group's armed insurgency in Russia.

The Wagner militia group, commanded by Yevgeny Prigozhin, launched an armed mutiny last Friday, claiming that Russian army forces had attacked the group's positions. Last night, Prigozhin gave up his positions with the release of the recorded audio file.

Meanwhile; Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said last Saturday evening that Prigozhin's criminal case would be closed and he would go to Belarus.
