Egypt denies supplying missiles to Russia

CAIRO-An Egyptian official denied yesterday that the government plans to secretly supply Russia with 40,000 missiles, as previously reported by the Washington Post. Speaking on condition of anonymity to Al Qahera News, the government source described the report as trivial and unsubstantiated.

The American newspaper, which based its scoop on an alleged leaked US intelligence document, said Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi did not want to disclose the plan so as not to alter diplomatic ties with the West.

The Egyptian official, denying the reconstruction, said that Egypt adopts a balanced policy in relations with all international parties and that the framework of this policy is peace, stability and development.
