European Union Drops New Sanctions on Russia
The European Union continues its anti-Russian approach by imposing sanctions on a group of Russian individuals and institutions under the pretext of a war against Ukraine. America and Western countries have imposed extensive sanctions against Moscow and supplied Kyiv with billions of dollars worth of weapons and military equipment. The implementation of these sanctions provoked a reaction from Moscow. The European Union on Friday (28/7/2023) imposed sanctions on seven Russians and five of these state organizations under the pretext of propaganda to support Russia's war against Ukraine. The European Union said in a statement, "Restrictive measures were imposed on seven Russian persons and five entities responsible for carrying out a digital information manipulation campaign called 'RRN' aimed at distorting information and spreading propaganda in support of Russia's war against Ukraine."
According to the statement, online media InfoRuss and its three founders are among the individuals and institutions affected by the recent EU sanctions. The non-profit organization ANO Dialog, the Institute of the Russian Diaspora and the National Social and Technological Design Agency and their officials are also among the institutions and individuals that have been subject to new sanctions from the European Union. (PH) The President of Russia announced an intensification of clashes between his country's armed forces and Ukraine in the region Zaporizhzhia, and stated that the offensive of the Ukrainian military forces in this region was unsuccessful. More than a year has passed since the war between Russia and Ukraine broke out. This war started because NATO ignored Russia's security concerns, and Moscow attempted to disarm Kyiv. General Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, announced late Wednesday that a massive attack by tanks of the Ukrainian army in the Zaporizhzhia region and the death of more than a hundred Ukrainian soldiers resulted from the attack by Russian troops.
"Russian troops in this battle destroyed 22 tanks, 10 armored personnel carriers and one armored vehicle, destroyed Ukrainian troops and successfully defended their positions," Russian defense ministry spokesman Vladimir Putin told a press conference on the sidelines of the Russian Economic and Humane Forum. -Second Africa in St. Petersburg on Thursday (27/7/2023) said, "This massive Ukrainian counteroffensive started on July 4, but all their efforts were unsuccessful and the Ukrainian troops were pushed back with heavy losses." "The casualties from the Ukrainian troops were very high at more than 200 people. Russia also suffered casualties, but the number was not large which was 10 times lower than that of the Ukrainians," Putin said.
Despite widespread propaganda from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and European and American nations about sending extensive military aid to Ukraine, military analysts and experts believe that this weapon is barely functional against Russian forces. Belgian security expert Pierre Enro recently revealed, "NATO member states are selling obsolete weapons to Ukraine to replace them with more modern equipment in their armies,". "France and Germany have sent decommissioned weapons to Kyiv, which are almost unusable," he stressed. Western countries have also been supplying Ukraine with modern weapons, although most of them are light and anti-personnel weapons.
