European Union vs. US
The European Union's foreign policy chief has stressed the need for European countries to stand together against the United States.
Ms. Kaja Kallas, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, has expressed the common views of the European Union's Foreign Ministers on the need for unity and solidarity among European countries against the United States, saying that the policies of the new Washington government have a major negative impact on the European Union.
Kallas added that the new US government speaks the language of business and the European Union should also learn to speak a similar language. The EU's foreign policy chief also said the EU and the US are not negotiating over Greenland.
Since winning the presidential election on November 5, 2024, US President Donald Trump has made clear his intention to annex Greenland, a self-governing territory of Denmark, and make it part of the United States.
Criticizing Trump's remarks, Mute Egede, the Prime Minister of Greenland, has repeatedly stated that Greenland is not for sale, and that it is the citizens who have the authority to decide the future of their country.
Trump's positions on changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico, as well as the annexation of Canada, Greenland, and control of the Panama Canal, have once again revealed to the world the true attitude of the United States towards other countries, which is an attitude of self-righteousness based on blatant imperialism.
