Even army reservists against Netanyahu: voluntary service suspended

More than 60 reservist officers from an elite Israeli army intelligence program have announced … their plans to suspend their voluntary service in protest against the regime's judicial reform, according to the Wallah website. According to the Jerusalem Post, the officers come from the Havatzalot program, which trains intelligence officers for key roles in the Israeli army's Intelligence Directorate. Officers complete a three-year double degree program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

The decision follows remarks by War Minister Yoav Gallant, who told members of the Knesset's Committee on Foreign Affairs and Security in a closed meeting that the refusal of the reservists means "a possible possibility of damaging the prompt response of the regime in the long term”. However, he added that the damage caused by the reservists' protests is "relatively limited", but stressed that the regime is still in a situation "where it can explode on all fronts". There has been “great damage due to deep divisions and this could turn into an attack on security,” Gallant added. Thousands of reservists from different Israeli army units, including hundreds of Air Force reserve pilots, have threatened to suspend their voluntary service due to judicial reforms.
