Clashes between protesters and police have become increasingly violent after the end of the 'white march' led by the mother of the boy killed by a policeman two days ago in Nanterre, which was attended by between 5,000 and 6,000 people. Several policemen were injured, many cars set on fire. The clashes broke out when the march arrived in front of the courthouse in Nanterre.

French President Emmanuel Macron has called a meeting of an interministerial crisis unit (CIC) for this morning at 08:00 at the Interior Ministry in light of the violence sparked by the police killing of a 17-year-old boy.

Macron denounced "scenes of violence" against the "institutions of the Republic" which are "unjustifiable", after another night of clashes and riots in the banlieues of France over the death of Nael, the 17-year-old killed by police in Nanterre, on the outskirts of Paris.
Opening the work of the interministerial crisis cell, Macron hoped that "the next few hours" will be those of "respect" and "collection". The mother of the young victim has organized a white march in Nanterre for 2.00 pm in homage to her son who was killed during a road check.
