France sanctions settlers for violence against Palestinians
France has declared that it has brought to the table of the European Union the plan of sanctions against settlers, extremist Jews, for,... committing violence against Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank. The Paris Foreign Minister, Catherine Colonna, has announced that she intends to discuss it with her EU colleagues at Monday's meeting in Brussels with her European counterparts. "This violence must stop. Ensuring this and prosecuting the perpetrators is the responsibility of the Israeli authorities," warned the spokeswoman for the French Foreign Ministry, Anne-Claire Legendre, adding that for its part, Paris "also assumes its responsibilities. We expect ban measures from French territory as well as the freezing of assets at national but also European level".
