German police raided the "Hamburg Islamic Center"
German media reported that the country's police and security forces attacked the Hamburg Islamic Center. Today, dozens of police and security officers announced that they attacked the "Blue Mosque" and the Hamburg Islamic Center. Last year, German police raided the Hamburg Islamic Center and 54 other centers in 7 states based on some empty and baseless allegations.
According to reports, the Federal Ministry of the Interior has banned the association that operates the "Blue Mosque", the Islamic Center Hamburg (IZH). According to the statement made by the ministry, the association is accused of acting against the Federal Constitution of Germany and spreading anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli hate speech. It is also alleged that the mosque's representatives have glorified the violent acts of organizations such as Hamas and supported banned organizations such as Hezbollah in the past.
Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser also banned five more associations considered to be IZH subsidiaries. Police operations were carried out in eight states during the morning hours. A total of 53 locations, including mosques and association rooms, were searched. Materials and assets were seized.
Following last year's raids, investigations into the prohibition of associations were carried out under the leadership of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV). Numerous written documents, data carriers, computers and literature were examined.
According to the ban decision of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, which is more than 200 pages long, the IZH is accused of "conducting aggressive anti-Semitism and intense anti-Israeli propaganda and therefore acting contrary to the idea of international understanding."
