Hamas spokesman: Without the courage of resistance, the ceasefire would not have been achieved
The head of Hamas' Office of Martyrs, Prisoners and Wounded said: "The courage of the resistance forced the Zionist Nazis to accept the terms of resistance, the achievement of a humanitarian ceasefire agreement in Gaza would not have been realized without it.
Zaher Jabareen stated on Friday, following the release of 39 Palestinian women and children imprisoned by the Zionist regime, that the perseverance of Gaza's patient mujahideen thwarted the plot to resettle Palestinians. He praised the victorious resistance for compelling the Zionist enemy to accept a prisoner exchange through persistence, heroic confrontation, and dramatization on the battlefield, leading to the liberation of Palestinian women and children from enemy prisons.
Khalid Meshaal, Hamas' leader, commented from outside occupied Palestine after the temporary ceasefire in Gaza, stating that some Western politicians discussing Gaza's situation post-Hamas shouldn't waste time, as the region's future without Israel will be debated in the next few years.
Following Israel's nearly 50-day war against Gaza, a four-day temporary ceasefire began on Friday. Originally set for Thursday at 10 a.m. local time, it was delayed to Friday due to technical and logistical issues. The truce mandates a cessation of fighting on both sides. Additionally, for every Israeli hostage, three Palestinian women and children are to be released, and both parties agreed to deliver 200 trucks with food and medical supplies to all areas of the Gaza Strip.
In response to over seventy years of Zionist regime occupation and aggression against Gaza and other occupied territories, the Palestinian resistance initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7. The Zionist regime, as customary, responded with civilian massacres and residential area bombings. Eventually, the regime conceded the failure of the operation to free captives and surrendered to the resistance.
