At least 168 people have lost their lives in incidents caused by rain, after heavy rains and floods hit Pakistan and neighboring Afghanistan.

About 100 people have died and dozens of others have been injured in incidents caused by rain, after heavy rains and floods hit the northwest and southwest of Pakistan.
 
According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), heavy rains have caused flooding in the regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Pakistan-administered Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, also known as Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
 
According to the latest report of NDMA, until now, 98 people have been reported to have lost their lives and 89 others have been injured in those areas, during the past week due to collapsed structures.
 
About 3,261 houses have been destroyed and another 536 have completely collapsed.
 
Heavy floods and landslides have also damaged roads and bridges in the mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Afghanistan floods

At the same time, the Ministry of Disaster Management of Afghanistan has said that at least 70 people have died and 56 others have been injured due to heavy rains and floods that occurred in several areas of the country in the past week.

Citing the ministry's report, Bakhtar News Agency has announced that the floods have also damaged parts of 2,627 houses or completely demolished them, apart from destroying more than 600 livestock.

The Afghanistan Meteorological Agency has predicted that the current rainy season will continue until Sunday.../
