The Saudi Foreign Ministry has commended international opposition to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's provocative remarks regarding the Gaza Strip and has opposed any move to displace Palestinians from their lands.
The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed in its statement that Riyadh commends the positions taken internationally to condemn and oppose Netanyahu's statements regarding the displacement of Palestinians in their territories and their expulsion from their traditional lands.
A statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry said: "Extremist and imperialist people do not understand the meaning of the Palestinian land nor the deep and human connection that the Palestinians have with their suffering."
The Saudi Foreign Ministry's remarks came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement that if Saudi Arabia wants the Palestinians to have their own country, then they should allocate a territory within Saudi Arabia for them to create their own country and not on the land of their homeland.
When asked whether the creation of a Palestinian state was necessary for establishing formal diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia, the Israeli prime minister rejected the idea, claiming it was a "security threat to Israel."
In its statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry has used strong words to oppose Netanyahu's provocative remarks and emphasized that these remarks are aimed at distorting the world's thinking about the ongoing crimes committed by the invaders (Israel) in Gaza.
