The Hebrew media has announced that the Zionist administration of Israel wants to reach an agreement with the Hamas movement that will enable the release of a small number of hostages held in the Gaza Strip in exchange for a month-long ceasefire.

The newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth has reported that, in meetings held on Sunday and Monday in the capital of Qatar, Doha, the head of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, David Barnea consulted with the head of the American intelligence agency (CIA) William Burns and the Prime Minister of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani about achieving an agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority movement of Hamas on the proposal.

The newspaper has said, Barnea suggested the release of 11 to 14 Israeli hostages, including the remaining women and elderly people, so that the war continued by the Zionist regime against Gaza would not be threatened for a period of 30 days.

According to the proposal, Israel will release Palestinian prisoners held in its jails, but the actual number of those who will be released will be put on the table for discussion.

The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper report added that the proposal will soon be submitted to Hamas leaders to assess whether the Muqawama movement will be ready to return to negotiations for a "minimum" agreement.

Some Zionist circles have told the newspaper that in order to make Hamas accept the proposal that does not include the item for the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip, the Zionist regime will have to agree to release more Palestinian prisoners than it should.../
