He said enemy forces were deployed in empty areas around the Gaza Strip and were receiving heavy blows from the resistance, Al Jazeera reported. Shahab added that Israel has achieved nothing against the Palestinian people. He called the resistance's priority the release of Palestinian prisoners and added that the resistance would achieve this goal by any means necessary. Shahab's comments about the Zionist regime's failure to make headway in its 23-day war with Hamas come as former Zionist regime soldier Ben-Zion Sanders admitted Sunday night that any ground operation by the Zionist regime army is doomed to failure. Sanders, recalling the war against the Gaza Strip in 2014, noted: "At the time, Israeli leaders assured us that Hamas would be completely eliminated, but that was a lie that they continue to repeat today." He acknowledged that the Hamas (Palestinian Resistance) movement has become stronger in recent years than before, despite the comprehensive blockade against the Gaza Strip. Over the past few days, Zionist forces, backed by the regime's tanks, have tried three times to enter the Gaza Strip and capture parts of the territory, but in all three attempts they were defeated and fled with heavy losses.
