Israel, which criticized all UN institutions throughout the war in Gaza lasting more than 6 months, with the full support of the United States, has now contacted the Security Council following Iran's response to this regime's attack on the Tehran consulate in Damascus, Syria.
In his urgent letter to Vanessa Fraser, the ambassador and representative of Malta, which holds the rotating presidency of the Security Council, Israel's UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan called for an urgent meeting of this council regarding Iran's attack.
While the Security Council did not condemn the regime's attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations demanded a clear condemnation of Tehran's response to that attack on Saturday night, angrily calling the action of Iran's Revolutionary Guards "terrorism".
The spokesperson of the Maltese delegation, which also holds the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council, made a statement to journalists on Saturday night and stated that this council will meet tomorrow, Sunday, in the afternoon local time, at the request of Israel, to investigate Iran's attack on this regime.
The UN Security Council media department also informed journalists that this meeting will be held at 16:00 local time./
