John Bolton's warning about defeat in the war in Ukraine
Addressing the controversy over continued support for Ukraine, the former US national security adviser testified before Congress and said: "If we don't act quickly, Russia will win." According to the Hill news site, John Bolton, the national security adviser to former US President Donald Trump, in an interview addressed to that country's Congress, asked for swift action to support Ukraine in the midst of a war with Russia. Pointing to the conflicts in Gaza, Bolton noted that a war in the Middle East could distract American attention. In this conversation, the former US national security adviser emphasized: “If we don’t help the Ukrainians, Russia will ultimately win.” The former US official's remarks come as differences between Democrats and some Republicans over continued support for Kyiv in recent months have deepened. This has divided Republicans and made it difficult for Congress to approve continued support for Ukraine. As winter sets in and the war slows, there are rumors that the Ukrainian army has reached a stalemate in the war against Russia. In addition, the results of Kyiv's counterattacks, which began last summer, were not very satisfactory. The successive failures of the Ukrainian military's offensive operations against Russia come as the Kyiv government seeks hundreds of billions of dollars in military aid from Western countries, arguing that Russia's attack on Ukraine is an act against all of Europe.
