Mahathir slams EU & US for Gaza genocide

The former Malaysian Prime Minister has strongly criticized the US and European Union's support for Israel, insisting that supporting the genocide in the Gaza Strip with state and financial resources is 'disgusting and repugnant.'

Mahathir Mohamad, the 99-year-old former Prime Minister of the Southeast Asian nation, said this on Friday, explaining that, "The United States, which wants to be a great power again, supports and aids the Israeli genocide, as do its European allies."

The veteran politician, who is respected and admired not only in Malaysia, but in various corners of the world, has pointed to Western support for the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinians of Gaza and said: "This is the behavior of savages, not of civilized people."

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has killed more than 48,000 people, most of them women and children, in Gaza, leaving the Palestinian territory in ruins. A ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement has been in place since January 19, after the Zionists surrendered.

Israeli crimes with US and EU support in Gaza

"We cannot claim to be civilized when we ignore all the high values that we associate with modern civilization," Mahathir said in a message he posted on the X network, adding, "The genocide being carried out by Israel, supported financially and armed by the world's supposedly greatest defenders of human rights, tramples on the dignity of human life and is a heinous crime."

The former Malaysian Prime Minister has emphasized that, "We see tens of thousands of people being killed, some from hunger, deprivation of water and medicine. We see hospitals and schools and refugee camps being bombed and rocketed. Yes! Civilization has failed."
