The French government is trying to show that its relationship with Morocco is normal by making efforts to deny that Rabat has rejected Paris' aid to the victims of the earthquake in that African country. Catherine Colonna, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, has tried to put an end to the current controversy about the bad relationship between the two countries. The French Foreign Minister has claimed that Morocco has not rejected any help or proposal from Paris. Colonna continued his intervention saying: Morocco can define its needs and the speed of receiving aid. Catherine Colonna last Saturday an earthquake of about 7 on the Richter scale occurred in the western parts of the African country and caused great damage. Reports say that the leaders of Rabat have rejected French proposals to send aid to the victims of the natural disaster despite the insistence of French government organizations and civil societies to be involved in aid operations in the country. So far, Morocco has received aid from countries such as Spain, England, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

While confirming the news, Arnaud Fraisse, the head of the French non-governmental organization, Rescuers Without Borders (Secouristes Sans Frontières), has announced that Morocco is blocking the entry of aid teams from Paris to help the victims of the earthquake. The Moroccan government has rejected French aid while some media reports say that King Mohammed VI of Morocco has refused to receive the call of the French President, Emmanuel Macron. Experts and historians say that the relationship between France and Morocco has never deteriorated to the current level. Pierre Vermeren, a historian and professor at Sorbonne University, believes that the King of Morocco's refusal to respond to President Emmanuel Macron's poison is a clear political sign of the deterioration of relations between the two countries. Morocco seems to join several African countries that have decided to cut or reduce to a large extent their relations with the peaceful colonialist, that is, France in the last three years.
