Moscow Official: Russia and China's Dedollarization Program Has Been Realized
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that most of the country's payments with China have been made using the national currency. Director of Asian Affairs, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgy Zinoviev, Saturday (9/9/2023) said, "The policy of eliminating the American dollar, in economic relations between Russia and China, has been realized." He added, "The volume of use of national currencies in payments for Russian and Chinese transactions is currently experiencing very high growth."
According to Georgy Zinoviev, since the beginning of 2022, the volume of use of national currencies in Russian and Chinese financial transactions has been around 25 percent, but has now reached 80 percent. "The Russian and Chinese economies have distanced themselves significantly from the poisonous currencies of the West, and their priorities are the ruble and the yuan," stressed Zinoviev. At the same time, the Director of Asian Affairs, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, explained that payment of financial transactions using national currency is more reliable and more convincing.
