Nigerian Army: We have killed 227 terrorists in the last week
The Nigerian Army has announced that it has killed about 227 terrorists in various anti-terrorist operations carried out by the army in all corners of the country in the past week.
The army's statement on Thursday added that another 529 terrorists have been arrested by the soldiers, who raided many famous hideouts of the suspected terrorists in the country with the largest number of people in Africa.
Giving the information, Edward Buba, the spokesman of the Nigerian army has also told journalists in Abuja that, in the period of one week, the soldiers have managed to free no less than 253 hostages from the hands of the terrorists and added that, a total of 231 weapons of various types and 6,441 bullets of different types have also been found in those operations.
Terrorist acts and armed attacks have become so common in Nigeria that at the beginning of this May, 30 farmers were brutally killed in an attack by armed gangs in Zamfara state in the northwest of the country.
The spokesperson of the Zamfara Police Command, Yazid Abubakar said in his statement that the terrorist gang carried out the bloody attack in the Maradun and Tsafe areas of the state.
He said, the famous Islamic scholar, Mallam Makwashi Maradun Mai Jan-Baki is among more than 10 people who were killed in the attack carried out by the terrorists in the Maradun area.
More information said that more than 20 people were killed in the second attack by terrorists targeting the village of Bilbis in the Tsafe area of Zamfara, Nigeria.
