Office of the President South Africa: We will pursue our charges against Israel's genocide
The Office of the President of South Africa has announced in its statement that it will continue to monitor the genocide case of the Zionist regime in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) until its judgment is delivered.
The Office of the President of South Africa has announced in its statement that it will continue to monitor the genocide case of the Zionist regime in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) until its judgment is delivered.
Part of the statement from the office of the President of South Africa has said: The case of the crimes of the violent Israeli regime will continue until the International Court of Justice issues its verdict, and we hope that the Israeli regime will comply with the interim guidelines.
On December 29, 2023, South Africa filed a complaint against the Zionist regime at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for allegedly violating the Convention on the Prevention of Genocide, which was adopted in 1948.
South Africa has said in its charges that the actions of the Zionist regime in Gaza are a clear example of genocide, because the war is being carried out with the aim of destroying a large part of the Palestinian community living in the area.
In the case filed by South Africa against Israel, the ICJ, the highest court of the United Nations, issued three interim measures on January 26, March 28 and May 24.
The ICJ ordered Israel to take all measures within its power to prevent genocide in Gaza, allow unrestricted access to food in the besieged Palestinian territory, and immediately end its military occupation of the southern city of Rafah. Israel has ignored all those ICJ orders.
