Opposition candidate Chad condemns threats and violence against him and his supporters

The Succès Party of Masra, the Prime Minister of Chad who is one of the presidential candidates who competed in the election on Monday last week, condemned the violence and threats against him and his supporters, and claimed that the presidential election was covered in fraud.

Masra, who is 40 years old, is the main opponent of Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, the President of the transitional government and military leader of Chad. The presidential election held on Monday this week is intended to end three years of military rule in Chad, however opponents of the country's military ruler called for a boycott of the election saying that the results have already been arranged.

Masra party of The Transformers said on its Facebook page that its candidate has been monitored and faced with threats. The party together with the Union of Justice and Equality have also condemned the threats and violence faced by its supporters, including the arbitrary arrests conducted by Chad's security forces against its supporters since the presidential election was held on Monday this week.

The Transformers party of the main opponent of the president of the transitional government of Chad has said that it has been prevented from coming to the polling stations to witness the counting exercise.
