Pashinyan expressed hope for perseverance in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border demarcation process
The process of border demarcation between Armenia and Azerbaijan continues, and the Armenian government hopes that the parties will be firm in this matter.
RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this at the "From the Frontline" held within the framework of the Copenhagen Democracy Summit. During the discussion on the topic "From the frontline: Armenia's defense of democracy", answering the question about the complex security situation around Armenia and referring to the strategic point of view of Armenia on this issue.
"Now the main problem is security. And what is our strategic point of view? How will we ensure security for our country? Recently, I gave a speech in our parliament, saying that I believe that the most important tool for ensuring security is a legitimate foreign policy," Pashinyan stated, detailing why Armenia talks so often about the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration.
"The Declaration of Alma-Ata was adopted by 12 Soviet republics, indicating two very important ideas. first, the Soviet Union ceases to exist, and the administrative borders between the Soviet republics become state borders, as the Soviet republics become independent states .
On October 6, we had a quadrilateral meeting in Prague with the participation of the President of France, the President of the European Council, the President of Azerbaijan and myself, where two very important agreements were reached: first, that Armenia and Azerbaijan recognize each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty based on the Alma-Ata Declaration. We also agreed that the Alma-Ata declaration should be the basis for the process of demarcation of the borders of the two countries, Nikol Pashinyan clarified, drawing attention to the fact that it is not necessary to draw or create new borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan, because it is simply necessary to reproduce the existing border on the ground itself.
"This process continues, and we hope that we will be firm in it," said the Prime Minister.

Nikol Pashinyan, referring to the Armenian "Crossroads of Peace" project, specifically mentioned:
Another key point for our regional stability is the " Crossroads of Peace" project initiated by my government. This project assumes that Armenia and Azerbaijan restore and open transport and other communications under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries through which they pass and comply with the principles of equality and reciprocity ," the Prime Minister emphasized.
