Religion is a factor in strengthening the intellect / Thoughts of Ayatollah Khamenei

Throughout history, man has always struggled to meet his needs, because man was created as a needy creature in nature. The fatal danger that lurks in man is, on the one hand, the wrong perception of his needs and on the other hand, the prescription of wrong answers to these needs.

The gift of divine prophets to guide men through this perilous passage is nothing but lessons of divine guidance; The Holy Qur'an is a unique, precious, healing and guiding gift, which was sent to mankind by God Almighty through Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

One does not reach the destination of peace, security and contentment in this world except through the practical use and benefit of this great book.

The Holy Qur'an teaches people certain truths that the man of the 21st century, despite his material human progress, has never had the power and the opportunity to know them, truths that, if revealed to man and he acts on them, they will make him strong and determined on the right path.

Therefore, only those who have learned from the Book of God can get out of the circle of error and not go to destruction.

Benefit from the Qur'an can only be achieved through constant communication with this source of light.

What you read below is taken from Ayatollah Khamenei's book, General Compendium of Islamic Thought in the Qur'an:

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Merciful!

1. Elif, Lama, Ra. (this is) Book; We revealed it to you to bring people out of darkness into light by God's command; (to bring them out of darkness) in the way of the Mighty, the Praised.

Detailed translation of verse 1 of Surah Ibrahim

This Qur'an is the Book that We have sent down to you. That with God's permission and help "people leave the darkness of darkness", bring these people out of the darkness of ignorance and guide them to the light. The benefit of light is to illuminate the way, while the result of darkness is that people do not know what to do and where to go!

The seeds and kernels are underground. It is dark in the dark. What makes these seeds come alive and come out of the heart of all darkness and darkness and reach the bright environment are the raindrops that fall from the sky.

Now the history of us humans is the history of the same seeds that are captives of this earthly and dark world. And the verses of the Qur'an are the same raindrops that descended from the sea of divine knowledge and fell on the heavenly heart of the Prophet to give life to the seeds of human existence and to bring them out of the darkness of ignorance, unbelief, oppression, corruption , sin and to bring them into the world of light, the light of knowledge, the light of faith, the light of goodness and the light of unity and integrity. Why should there be a prophet? Why should anyone from God turn his back on man's leadership? Can't man himself? Is human knowledge and human thought not enough? Why the Prophet? Why is the carrier of the message between the invisible and the intuition?

We don't talk much about the philosophy of prophecy. It is a word, and that one word is that human senses, human instincts, and human wisdom are insufficient to guide men.

A variety of beings with their senses can be guided. But man needs a higher power, a stronger and deeper guidance than the guidance of feeling, than the guidance of instinct, than the guidance of reason. What does this instruction do? Does it compete with your senses? Does it go against your instincts? Do you stone the head of reason? Not at all.

He comes to guide the intellect, to nourish the intellect, to raise the intellect from the dust of the grave.

Pharaohs do not like people to have logic and reason, they do not like people to understand; Because if people understand and find out, their existence will become worthless and legendary.

So what is religion about? To guide the intellect. There is reason to grasp the mind, but when lust is near him, he cannot judge rightly. There is wisdom, but when greed is side by side with him, he cannot see properly. When instinct is with him, he cannot understand properly. Religion comes with the rationale of being free from lusts, vain desires, greeds, fears and instincts. It strengthens the perfect and sound mind and completes it so that it understands well.
