Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called the escalation in connection with the supply of weapons to Kiev unacceptable: "many people in the West understand this."

"Of course, this is an unacceptable escalation. I think there are still people in the West who understand this but everything is dictated by Washington, London and their satellites which are inside the European Union," Lavrov said in a interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin for the "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" program of the Rossiya 1 TV channel, commenting on the question of where the limit of the escalation is in light of the continuous supply of weapons to Kiev.

Moscow last year sent a note to NATO countries over the supply of weapons to the post-Soviet republic. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that any cargo with military equipment for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for the Russian military. According to him, the United States and the alliance are directly involved in the conflict, not only transferring weapons, but also training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries.
