Spain called on Europe to recognize the state of Palestine
The Prime Minister of Spain called on the European countries to recognize Palestine as an independent state.
According to "AP" agency, at a joint press conference held in Spain with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Pedro Sanchez called on all European countries to recognize Palestine as an independent state.
He noted that this is the only way to end Israel's crimes, adding that Madrid is making efforts to end the war in Gaza.Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted that Spain's decision to recognize the independent state of Palestine is of great importance.
It is noteworthy that after the decision of the Spanish authorities to recognize the state of Palestine on May 27, the relations between that country and the Zionist regime became strained.More than two-thirds of the UN members or more than 140 countries have recognized Palestine as an independent state.
On May 28, Spain, Ireland and Norway also recognized the state of Palestine. And the Slovenian parliament has recently approved the government's decision to recognize the independent state of Palestine with an overwhelming majority of votes.
Sweden, Cyprus, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria have already recognized the state of Palestine from the 27 EU members. Malta has also announced that it will make such a decision soon.
