Sudan army condition to return to negotiations
Amid continued heavy fighting in various cities in Sudan for the fourth month in a row, the country's Foreign Ministry announced the conditions of the Sudanese army to return to peace talks. According to Rossiya Segodnya, the Sudanese army stepped up strikes on the positions of the rapid reaction forces in Khartoum and other cities of this country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan reported on the conditions put forward by the army led by Abdul Fattah al-Barhan to resume negotiations in order to achieve peace in this country and reported that the main condition of the army for negotiations is the withdrawal of rapid reaction forces from the homes of civilians. Although the Sudanese army accuses the rapid reaction forces of using civilians as human shields in battles with the forces of the Sudanese army, however, these forces consider such accusations to be groundless.
Amid clashes between the army and the rapid reaction forces in Sudan, inter-tribal conflicts are also raging in Darfur, which exacerbates the crisis. Earlier, Al Jazeera TV channel reported that over the past two days, 120 people have died as a result of tribal clashes in the province of South Darfur. Tribal conflicts in Darfur since 2003 have been one of the factors of instability in the region. The fighting against the Khartoum government by armed groups belonging to African minorities began under the pretext that the government was backed by Arab groups and subjected Darfur to political and economic discrimination. According to a UN report, the fighting in Sudan has killed 300,000 people and displaced 2.5 million people.
