A new report reveals the prevalence of depressive symptoms and suicidal tendencies among young Israelis. According to the report published by Hebrew-language media, covering the year 2022, and conducted by ELEM, 44% of Israeli youth suffer from constant anxiety and depression, while 20% with suicidal tendencies.

"They shared feelings of hopelessness, fatigue, disconnection and lack of motivation when they were at home, school, parks and on social media," the report said, adding that about 19 percent reported receiving emotional therapy from psychologists. , psychiatrists and other therapists.

“The hardships young people have faced and deepened during the COVID pandemic have not diminished,” says ELEM's report, presented to President Isaac Herzog on Tuesday. According to the report, 18 percent of Israeli youth also reported being abused sexual violence, while 20% said they have experienced domestic violence, some of which has lasted for years.
