The Director of Defense Information, Major General Edward Buba, has confirmed that the army carried out operations in various regions of the country in the past week .
Buba said the commander of Boko Haram was not involved in those operations .In addition, 157 people who had been kidnapped by terrorists were released and 182 terrorists were arrested .The soldiers captured 71 weapons, two cars and a large amount of ammunition .
Nigeria has been struggling for a long time with attacks from armed gangs, including Boko Haram and ISWAP, especially in the northeastern areas of the country .
