Rival parties in Sudan that have plunged the country into war have announced that they are ready to end the war.

The head of the Transitional Administration Council and the Commander of the Sudanese Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, together with his opponent Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo who leads the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) together said that they are ready to find a solution to the ongoing war in the country by 17 months.

However, the two generals have continued to blame each other for failing to end the fighting and the violation of human rights against civilians, without them setting out strategies to reach an agreement through peace.

While the Head of the Transitional Administration Council and the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has been insisting that he will not negotiate with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) as long as the war continues.

The number of refugees in Sudan has been increasing every day due to the ongoing war in the country

 

At the same time, humanitarian organizations have been condemning the lack of security that hampers the delivery of aid, with more than 25 million people suffering from food shortages and the risk of starvation in Sudan.

The armed conflict started in Sudan on April 15 last year (2023) between the army of the country (SAF) led by General Abdel Fattah al Burhan who is the leader of Sudan and the militants of the Rapid Support Force (RSF) whose commander is Hamdan Dagalo.

Until now, international mediation efforts to end the fighting and convince the rival parties to sit at the negotiating table have hit a rock.
