The WAFF wants Israel to be expelled from all football activities in the world
The West Asian Football Confederation (WAFF) has called for the suspension of Israeli rule in all competitions and activities related to football in the world, even as Tel Aviv continues the war of genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The president of the federation, Prince Ali bin Hussein, has made the call in an open letter he sent yesterday to the World Football Federation (FIFA), football federations and members of the game's associations around the world. Part of the letter says, "Join us and take a strong stand against the atrocities being committed in Palestine, and the war crimes that continue to be committed in the Gaza Strip." In addition to wanting to be excluded from the Israel Football Federation and not be allowed to participate in any football activities where Tel Aviv is continuing the genocide in Gaza, the President of the WAFF has asked all parties who were sent the letter including coaches, referees, players and officials of the world's football federations with a statement one condemns the killing of innocent citizens of Gaza, and the destruction of football infrastructure in the area. This comes a few days after Aleksander Ceferin, the President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) said that the participation of Israel and Ukraine in the upcoming finals of the EURO 2024 championship is a security risk. He said that the participation of Israel and Ukraine in the EURO 2024 matches could be a security threat to the regional competition that is expected to be held in the hot summer in Germany. This is in a situation where hatred against Zionists has increased worldwide following the war of the illegal Israeli regime against the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip. Demonstrations condemning the crimes of Israel in Gaza have been held in all corners of the world, including in Germany where the football tournament is expected to be held in the hot season.
