The spokesperson of the human rights office of the United Nations has emphasized that tens of thousands of Rohingya citizens in recent days have been forced to leave their homes following the fighting in the cities of Buthidaung and Maungdaw.

He said, at least 45 thousand Rohingya Muslims have reportedly fled to the Naf river area near the border of Bangladesh for their safety. 

Liz Throssel has said that the Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk has called on Bangladesh and other countries to provide adequate protection to all those who need protection in line with international law and to ensure that they are with Bangladesh in receiving and providing asylum to the Rohingya refugees from Myanmar. .
