UN Secretary-General expresses concern over Israeli settlements
Stephane Dujarric, a United Nations spokesman, said on Monday: António Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, is deeply concerned about the Israeli security cabinet's agreement to build 9 settlements in the occupied West Bank.
According to the AAA, Dujarric said: “The UN Secretary-General reiterated that all settlements are illegal under international law and are a serious obstacle to peace. Dujarric added: The Secretary General calls for an end to unilateral actions that destroy the prospect of a political solution based on UN resolutions and are contrary to international law and bilateral agreements.
The Hebrew newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported that a meeting of the security cabinet of this regime was held, and at this meeting it was decided to legalize 9 of the 77 illegal settlements that Itmar Ben Gauer asked the Zionist Minister of Internal Security to legalize.
In addition, the Zionist cabinet agreed to expand security operations against Palestinians in occupied Quds in response to an operation in northern Quds that left three Zionists dead and two injured. After the meeting of the Security Cabinet, Itmar Ben Ger tweeted: "I am glad that the Cabinet agreed to my request to approve the conversion of 9 residential settlements to settlements, but this is not enough and we want more."
